Overview

The Bioelectronics research area integrates electronics and microelectronic technologies with medicine and life sciences to measure and interpret physiological signals and to develop intelligent electronic medical systems that interface with the human body. Building on sensor and microfabrication technologies, our research develops wearable and implantable biosensors, advanced neurotechnologies including neural interfaces, and bio-signal acquisition devices, while enabling early diagnosis and continuous monitoring through machine learning–based bio-signal analysis. We further incorporate electronics and control technologies—such as surgical and rehabilitation robotics, medical image processing, and artificial intelligence for medical devices—to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic precision and to realize novel electronic medical devices and systems for real-world clinical use. Ultimately, this research area aims to lead next-generation precision diagnostics, therapeutics, and digital healthcare by advancing the frontier between the human body and electronic devices.
